THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL PASSPORTS
Not all passports employ the same freedoms for those who carry them. The Henley Passport Index has again named Japan as having the world’s most powerful passport. Japanese passport holders have visa-free access or visa-on-arrival access to an impressive 191 countries. Singapore is in second place with 190 destinations. Then comes South Korea with 189 visa-free travel jurisdictions. French, German, Finnish, Luxembourgian, and Italian passports all follow for access to 188 countries without a prearranged visa.
American passport holders can travel to 185 countries without major restrictions. This freedom is also enjoyed by passport holders in Norway, Belgium, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
