According to the $100-million contract, four solar power plants will be constructed in Abadeh in Fars Province, reported Fars News Agency.

“The total capacity of the power plants will be 70 MW and will be built in Abadeh and Izad-Khast; both located in northern Fars Province,” said Director General of Economic Affairs and Finance Department of Fars Province Babak Daei.

Daei further said that the agreement includes two 25-MW and two 10-MW plants, adding that the four plants will be built and connected to the national electricity network in seven months.

In October 2016, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Austrian Parliament Vice-Speaker Karlheinz Kopf in a meeting in Tehran underlined the need for broadening of cooperation, especially in economic and trade fields.

During the meeting, Larijani and Kopf explored avenues for bolstering bilateral ties.

Larijani said that development of parliamentary relations will play an important role in expanding cooperation between the two sides.

Kopf pointed to Iran-Austria relations, and said, “Iran is an important country in the region and the world.”

The Austrian parliament vice speaker noted, “Parliamentary relations between the two countries will pave the way for developing cooperation in other sectors.”
