INCREASE IN NUMBER OF IRANIAN PORT CAPACITY IN 2021
Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization announced that the nominal capacity of commercial ports will increase to 264 million tons by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2021).
“This would register a 7.3% rise compared with last year’s figure that stood at 246 million tons,” Mohammad Rastad, the head of the organization, was quoted as saying by IRNA.
“We also plan to increase the container loading and unloading capacities of these ports to 8 million TEUs per annum this year, marking a 4% rise compared with last year.”
